Delicious Almond Porridge

Here is my first official post on a topic that I love, so here it goes...

This is one of my go to porridge's if I don't have to much time in the morning, its such a speedy breakfast and literally only takes ten minutes and it will keep you energised and buzzing for hours thanks to all the amazing plant protein and fibre. I love how warming it is to, specially with winter right around the corner, it'll be perfect. Its taste so rich and creamy on its own as the banana gives a wonderful sweetness and the almond butter adds a nutty touch but the toppings are pretty delicious too - I love my toppings! One of my favorites are raspberry as they are extremely high in various antioxidants, they also contain vitamin C which is an antioxidant in itself, as well as them being remarkably sweet in flavour.

Serves 1

- Half a cup of water
- Half a cup of almond milk
- 1/3 cup of oats
- One teaspoon of almond butter
- One tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1/2 ripe banana

Optional: One tablespoon of maca powder for an extra energy boost

Toppings:

- Fresh raspberry
- Bee pollen and honey
- Crushed nuts

Directions:

Simply add the oats, water, almond milk and banana to a saucepan and allow it to heat for about 10 mins, until the liquid has all been absorbed. Then stir in the almond butter and coconut oil and stir in with the rest of the mixture.Once it's all nicely mixed pour it into a bowl, add all your toppings and its ready to enjoy!

You can substitute the milk for any plant or non plant based milk, if your not keen on my toppings, add your favorite ones.
